Missoula is Rad, pt. 2

Continued....

A couple of folks outside the brewfest caught the attention of our crisis intervener/medically trained side...

We helped the guy help his girlfriend walk over to their car... Mieka said that we saw a little bit of the spetrum of Missoula there, from the Patagucci crowd to the destitute...

Mieka and I stayed with my Mom's good friends Rogene and Kim. They were already hosting three relatives and a dog in addition to their own two pups, but somehow managed to clear out a whole bedroom for us.

Mieka made me pose with a baby picture.... I'm supposed to be imitating the face that 1-year -old me made...
I dropped Mieka off at the Greyhound, where she headed to Livingston and Gardiner. Keep an eye out for a post from her after we reunite!
They Greyhound station had quirky, friendly staff and a lot of local flavor.

Meanwhile, I wandered around Missoula solo. I'm enchanted.

Rad thing #1: Kayak play wave, right downtown.
They built it in memory of a kayaker named Brennan.

Rad thing # 2: Quirky local businesses. I got a harmonica and the misSOULa sticker at this place called Rockin' Rudys. For Eugene natives, think Paper Traders x 10. The cylindrical sandwich is from the Staggering Ox.

Rad thing #3: FAKE MOUSTACHE BIKE RIDES??!?!

This, by itself, made me really want to move to Missoula.

Rad thing #4: Free art museum.

Rad thing #5: Cheap root bear floats at the Break Cafe. Also free wi-fi. Also could be an REI photo shoot location with all the really attractive gear-clad young people. It wasn't until I was on the road East that a text message reminded me of a friend from college who works on his family's ranch nearby. Damn. I need to come back here, fo sho.
